Proposal (Visual) Brand Building

Here’s a proposal (direction) for a possible deeper collaborative effort to build LM.RT’s visual identity and most importantly a higher paced output to really make sure it can stand out and create a true connection with anyone finding the brand. All while also making sure people understand LM.RT is a brand deeply rooted in attention demanding storytelling.

I’ve built this structure around ‘commitment levels’ rather than ‘packages’. Because as Liam said very well during our call. It’s a matter of getting a feeling of where the needs lie to build LM.RT. Finding the limits what’s possible is key. The aim here is to create a momentum (aka ‘hype’) around the brand where it becomes undeniable.

What’s possible

To give a better idea of what it exactly is that I can do besides take photos and videos. It’s nice to know how I’d approach LM.RT and with what assets when it comes to true value rather than ‘perceived’ value.

High Quality and quick paced output.
Something I always enjoy is the fact that ‘campaign level’ images come at ease. Being able to visually translate something simple but adding a ‘high level’ layer of image quality instantly draws eyes to a brand big or small. The following examples are shot super lean, raw and within an extremely short timeframe. I always work with a ‘same day delivery’ mindset. We create and finish within one day. Especially if it’s ‘straight to the point’ visuals.

Recent example (Norwegian Rain x UNIMATIC)

Visual Brand building (in depth)
Depending on the level of commitment the most important factor could be the long term and extremely stable brand building which includes creative style, long term image database creation and a strong, recognisable guideline for other creators to learn from.

As the goal is to keep building the collections and pushing the clothing and story forward it can be useful to act as ‘Liam’s eyes’ to be able to relieve him from the marketing/visual branding pressures.

Ownership (responsibility)
If able to execute the ‘three questionnaire’ interviews, campaigns, lookbooks and e-com (?) in video and photography we can start relying heavily on the visual ownership to ensure all quality is maintained when LM.RT communicates. This doesn’t mean ‘polished/premium’ but can also be raw and gritty but elevated. When I get deeply involved with brands I also start training people to learn at least the technical execution (think building small e-com studios with workflows).

Adaptability (other styles)
It’s possible to also execute a ‘softer’ style if you’d ever consider spreading my input towards other in-house/store related shoots. In the full commitment segment I’ve included the suggestion to maybe (if it’s more attractive) to also apply my presence to anything else you need within eth0s. That’s open to discuss as well.

Recent work example (Softer/Commercial look)

Strategy through storytelling
In every meeting I have with brands/creators/artists I always latch on to what is mentioned in conversations. In Liam’s case recently we talked about these Toile Prototypes that I feel could be elevated to have an almost ‘holy’ approach to improvisation and craftsmanship. If I were to hop on board, I’d be able to step into conversations, wishes and execute most work and therefore keeping momentum high and the ability to post ‘on the fly’ content that is relevant to whatever a brand needs to launch at any given moment.

Content is not ‘dirty’ anymore
There is a large social media shift happening where content is being elevated to new standards. Being able to navigate around the pressures of quick output while maintaining high quality is the new-new way of building brands. I know LM.RT is rooted in tastefulness, a visual ‘slow-burn’ if I’d have to put a label on it. But we can protect that taste and pace while upping the tempo of actual execution. The one can live peacefully beside the other.

  • Late note addition: I’m currently researching Redbook (out of interest) to see it’s inner workings and key differences when it comes to ‘how’ to market brand(s).

Experience (with struggling young brands)
I’m not a ‘big brand’ type of guy. My experience lies mostly in ‘ground up’ brand building through ‘brand defining visuals and storytelling’. The ‘start-up’ struggle is a real thing. Making sure a brand is built well, steadily and long term focused while managing cost and risk is extremely hard. One of the big hurdles here is content and quality of that content while making sure the strategy and stories are not lost along the way. Doing this while keeping up with the insane demand of pacing is difficult, but not impossible.

ANYWAY…

Sorry for rambling. Here is how I’d like to propose three ‘tiers’ of commitment. As you know everything is open to discuss. I’d truly love to be part of the team and truly add tangible value to build the next big thing(s) out there.
